After sun exposure, even when the skin takes on a beautiful gingerbread-like glow that we wish to preserve for as long as possible, it is essential to also repair the cells damaged by ultraviolet rays and to purify the epidermis.
Repairing, Refining and Illuminating the Skin
At the end of summer, replenishing lipids and deeply rehydrating the skin is essential if you want to prolong a radiant complexion. This requires restoring the hydrolipidic film and gently exfoliating to smooth the skin texture. Vegetable oils are the primary sources of essential fatty acids, which are fundamental components of all cell membranes. Their presence in a formulation, as dilution carriers, is just as important as the aromatic molecules themselves.
Argan vegetable oil is an excellent choice, undoubtedly one of the most powerful anti-aging and anti-spot oils. It helps prevent visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and pigmentation spots and is particularly appreciated by mature skin.
Macerated carrot vegetable oil, also known as carrot oil macerate or carrot oleate, with its natural orange hue and high carotenoid content, provides a healthy glow while supporting cellular repair.
To further rehydrate the skin, aloe vera gel is an outstanding source of hydration and freshness when applied directly to the skin. It also offers gentle exfoliating properties, helping to smooth skin texture and restore epidermal hydration.
Essential oils contribute to tissue coherence and cellular regeneration while helping to counter inflammation, oxidation, immune imbalance, and even chromosomal disruption.
Carrot essential oil is both a cellular regenerator and a purifier of sebaceous glands. It repairs skin cells damaged by UV exposure and regulates the hydrolipidic film. The skin becomes smoother, the complexion brighter, and the tissue more toned. It also helps reduce hyperpigmentation spots and revitalizes the basal layer of the epidermis.
Egyptian geranium essential oil complements these effects beautifully thanks to its astringent, regenerating, and toning properties.
Spike lavender essential oil provides a gentle aromatic peeling effect over repeated applications, refining skin that often thickens after prolonged sun exposure.
Supporting the Liver for a Healthy Glow
Skin purity is essential for radiance, freshness, and luminosity. Over the summer, the skin thickens as an adaptive response to sunlight, and sebum production may become unbalanced. Autumn is the ideal season to purify all elimination pathways internally, including the skin, which expels many toxins through sebum secretion.
Used internally, carrot essential oil supports liver drainage, purifies the blood, and helps regulate sebaceous glands, contributing to a brighter complexion and smoother skin.
It is beneficial to combine it in synergy with lovage root essential oil, known for supporting heavy metal elimination, and lemon essence, which protects the liver and lightens the hepatobiliary system.

Important Information
Whenever we use the term ‘essential oils’ (EO), we always refer to essential oils that are 100% natural, 100% pure, 100% unadultary, and preferably organic or wildcrafted. Only 100% genuine essential oils, obtained either by distillation or cold expression, are suitable for French aromatherapy. Proper storage and packaging, as well as adherence to the shelf life, are equally important in order to prevent the oxidation of aromatic molecules.
The information provided on this website is not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, prescription or treatment. Essential oils are excellent complementary tools, but are not a replacement for medication. Aromatherapy is not recommended without medical advice for anyone in a fragile state (children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, people with allergies, asthma or epilepsy), or for anyone taking medication.
French aromatherapy requires strict compliance with contraindications, dosages and duration of use, and requires the use of essential oils of the best quality that meet standard criteria (method of cultivation, extraction, packaging, analysis and traceability). It is important to strictly adhere to the botanical and biochemical identifaction of the essential oils mentionned.
Individual tolerance to essential oils varies significantly, and it is important that each individual respects their own tolerance. For people with a low tolerance threshold, it is advisable to further dilute the essential oils listed in this recipe and the proposed synergies. Long-term use of essential oils requires medical advice.
